Leon Everette

Leon Everette is an award-winning country and gospel music artist born in Aiken, South Carolina, and raised in Queens, New York. His music career began in 1968 after winning a U.S. Navy-sponsored talent competition while serving in Vietnam. Following several trips to Nashville, he signed with Orlando Records before earning an RCA recording contract in 1980, producing 11 consecutive Top 10 hits, including the No. 1 smash "Hurricane." His success earned him the Academy of Country Music's New Male Vocalist of the Year award in 1981, international performances at venues including London's Wembley Stadium, and recognition as one of country music's premier live entertainers. After dedicating his life to Jesus Christ in 1997, Leon shifted his focus to country gospel music, recording in his own studio, The Tool Shed, and continuing to tour nationwide. In 2016, he launched a successful second chapter of his career with the No. 1 gospel hit "I Stand the Tallest When I'm Down on My Knees," spending five weeks atop the charts. Today, Leon continues to inspire audiences across the country with his energetic performances, unwavering faith, and timeless blend of country and gospel music.
